This drill will focus on “one way” communications (city to residents) and you canl participate from yourown home. Participants will turn on their radios to channel 22 and listen at one of three times- 9:00am, 11:00am, or 1:00 pm- whichever is most convenient for you. When you sign up, you will be given a choice of times, but this is just a preference - you can participate in any of the three times listed, or all three - it's up to you.
Participants will listen for a broadcasted word or phrase and enter the word or phrase on a Google form provided. The purpose of the drill is to simulate an alert system that RLA plans to use in emergencies.
The drill will use GMRS radios (eg. Midland GTX1000VP4 or whatever radio you have)
The final instructions for the drill, to be emailed to participants, will include a refresher on how to set up your radio for channel 22.
