Neighborhood Earthquake Drill |
|||
Date: 10/19/24 | Start: 9:00 AM | End: 12:00 PM | Location: TBD |
Credential Credit (What's this?): No |
This will be an earthquake drill that will involve assessment teams practicing skills of identifying structure damage, injuries, hazards, and 911 situations. You will also have an opportunity to practice your communication skills and your skills in managing spontaneous volunteers. Hams will travel with the assessment tems and provide all the two way traffic between Net Control Via FRS radios.
If you are certified or trained, you may sign up as a BAT, CERT, or Ham. If you are not one of these, you can also sign up as an observer, which will allow you to participate to the extent that you want.
Expect this to be fun and hopefully provide insight into how a real emergency might occur.
The following positions are available for this event. You can state your preference when you sign up for the event. The event coordinator will attempt to accommodate your request. Based on the event and its requirements, the event coordinator may move hams to positions other than those requested.
